Affective learning, mindfulness, and social-emotional needs of children are at the forefront of education today. What the vast majority of teachers are learning to use with their students today is something that has been part of gifted education for decades. Not only are these important for students, but they are also equally important for the parents of gifted children. This course is open for teachers wanting to not only look out for the needs of gifted kids, but for all of their students in a mixed ability classroom. Parents are also welcome to participate in the class to learn more about living with gifted children and how to better function as a family unit. Along with additional strategies and information regarding this topic, this course will follow the teaching of the national organization, Supporting Emotional Needs of the Gifted (SENG).
